Leamington company serves up Ricky Hatton masks 28 April 2009
A LEAMINGTON company has sent 6,000 specially commissioned masks of Ricky Hatton to Las Vegas ahead of his title fight on Saturday night (May 2).
The 'Hitman' takes on Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand and his army of supporters have been supplied with the special masks - to wear at the weigh in and at ringside - by Mask-arade after the company was approached by The Sunday People newspaper.
A Mask-arade spokesman said: “We are convinced Ricky will emerge the winner and sent some masks over to the Hatton camp so they could surprise him on one of his rest days.”
And Ricky, one of Britain's most popular champions, was certainly taken aback.
Writing on his Internet blog he said: “The lads have got hold of some face masks that have a life-size photo of my face on them, and all stuck them on when my back was turned.
“When I saw them, it was a little weird and a bit of a surprise.”
